About US

Thanks for taking the time to look around our website. We are a group of Christians from various walks of life and backgrounds and are united by our faith in Jesus Christ and acceptance of Him as our Lord Saviour. We meet as a New Testament church in accordance with the words of the Lord Jesus as found in

Matthew 18 v 20 “For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.”

Why not come along to Assembly Hall and meet us or find out more about us using the headings below.

What we Believe

All our beliefs rest on the absolute inspiration, authority and infallibility of the Bible as the unchanging Word of the Living God. They can therefore be checked against the Bible verses listed below.

About the Lord Jesus Christ

About Salvation from Sin

  • We are all sinners: ‘All have sinned, and come short of the glory of God’ (Romans 3:23, Psalm 14:2,3)

  • Sin will be judged: ‘The wages of sin is death’ (Romans 6:23, Ezekiel 18:4)

  • We cannot save ourselves: ‘By grace are ye saved through faith…not of works, lest any man should boast’ (Ephesians 2:8-9, Jeremiah 13:23)

  • God’s answer is the death of Christ: ‘Christ hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God’ (1 Peter 3:18, Isaiah 53:6)

  • We must have a change of mind: ‘God …commandeth all men everywhere to repent’ (Acts 17:30)

  • We must believe what God says: ‘Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved’ (Acts 16:31)

  • We can be sure we are going to heaven: ‘He is able to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him’ (Hebrews 7:25)

About the Local Church

  • A company of baptized believers: ‘They that gladly received his word were baptized’ (Acts 2:41, Acts 18:8)

  • Weekly observance of the Lord’s Supper: ‘They continued steadfastly … in breaking of bread’ (Acts 2:42, Acts 20:7)

  • Regular Bible teaching: ‘They assembled themselves with the church, and taught much people’ (Acts 11:26, Matthew 28:18-20)

  • Urgent gospel preaching: ‘with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel’ (Philippians 1:27, Mark 16:15)

  • Prayer Meetings: ‘Prayer was made without ceasing of the church unto God’ (Acts 12:5, Acts 4:23-31)

  • Exercise of spiritual gift: ‘As every man hath received the gift, even so minister the same one to another’ (1 Peter 4:10, 1 Corinthians 14:34-35)

  • Leadership by God-appointed elders: ‘The Holy Spirit hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God’ (Acts 20:28, 1 Peter 5:1-5)
