Child Protection Policy

When working with children and even vunerable adults it is important that they are in a safe environment.

We have produced a child protection policy which sets out the rules that all workers/volunteers must follow to create this safe environment.

The Scotish government has an administrative body that carry out checks on people who are looking to work with children and vulnerable adults and validates they are suitable for working with these groups.

Disclosure Scotland will carry out these background checks and will issue a certificate, if approved, for the individual allowing them to work with these groups.

All the children's workers at Assembly Hall hold a current disclosure with Disclosure Scotland and we are also registered with the PVG scheme through Volunteers Action North Lanarkshire (VANL).  As part of this process they review our child protection policy and provide accreditaion of the document making it accpetable to VANL and the PVG scheme.

We have attached a sample of our policy for review and even as a basline for you to write your own policy. When writing your own you will need to consider all aspects of your outreach and make sure they are covered in your policy document.

Within the samples we have inlcude our reporting forms however we have moved to a digital system whereby these are recorded online rather in paper form.

If you have any queries please feel free to drop us an email and we will try and answer your questions.
